A new kiosk was installed across the road from the Gaines Cobblestone Schoolhouse. It can be seen from the towpath and points people to information about the Orleans County Historical Association and upcoming events.
A few years ago the group posted a sign on the towpath marking the .2 mile distance to the Gaines Cobblestone Schoolhouse. Bicyclists, boaters and walkers use the towpath and some will stop by to view the schoolhouse. This kiosk will provide information to visitors.
